Saving presets to and from the computer is all done with the Black Box control panel on the Files page.

Copy to Device
This is how you load a preset from the computer in to the currently selected preset on the Black Box. Presets are saved on the computer as MIDI SYSEX files (.syx). When you click the OK button for the COPY TO DEVICE, a browser window appears allowing you to select the proper preset file. Once the file is selected and you click OK, the selected preset is loaded into the current Black Box Preset location. This will replace the previously loaded preset in the Black Box. NOTE: If that preset was not already backed up to the computer, that preset will be lost forever.

Copy from Device
This is used when you want to save a preset created on the Balck Box to the computer. Presets are saved on the computer as MIDI SYSEX files (.syx). When you click the OK button for the COPY FROM DEVICE, a browser window appears allowing you to select a location to store the preset file. Once the location is selected, you click OK and the selected preset is stored to the computer.

Naming presets on the computer

Once a preset has been stored on the computer, you can change the name to anything you want. But remember that the Black Box will show the preset as it was named in the Black Box when you reload the preset in to the unit.
